studio uji was born out of a shared love of matcha, the kind that starts as a morning habit and slowly turns into something you care a lot more about than you expected.
the two of us see it quite differently though.
A is driven by a love of good matcha at a price that actually makes sense. quality matters, but so does being able to reach for it every single day without thinking twice. if it doesn't hold up on a regular tuesday morning, it's not for us.
H is fueled by curiousity, cultivar by cultivar, farm by farm. the type to spend a weekend tracking down a small producer in an obscure prefecture just to taste the difference.
between us, that's turned out to be a pretty good combination.
we built studio uji out of that dynamic.
